Making the most of your blog...

With only 2 weeks until your work needs to be handed in, it really is time to get thinking about you make the most out your blog.  Remember: these are marks you can gain quite easily and they can make the difference.  From looking at your blogs, here are a few ways to make sure you get a level 3/4:

  • You must include work on shotlists, layouts, drafting and storyboarding.  This means you need to show the stages of production.  Consider how you got from your original idea to the final product.  THINK: you did not just come up with the final picture/s, you took lots and narrowed them down.  How did you come up with the idea of the picture/s you used; did you have a storyboard to help?
  • You must demonstrate how you organised and constructed your pages.
  • You must have a detailed understanding of the music industry, magazines and your chosen genre.
  • You MUST have research into and feedback from your target audience - consider how to deliver this in a whizzy way.
  • You MUST have research into similar products and consider how this informs your product.
  • You need to be able to show why you have made the choices you have.  If you have followed the conventions, you should have detailed analysis of where these conventions can be seen.  If you have subverted the conventions, you need to be able to explain why you did this.
  • You must show your stages of planning.
  • It is good to show you understand the whole process - planning, production, marketing, distribution and consumption.
To make sure you are really doing your best, go back through my blog and check you have done everything I have asked you to do.

Good luck!
